I know a lot of people hate these guys, but think about it, they might do a Platinum/USUM scenario. In Platinum, we got new forms for Rotom and in USUM, We got new pokemon. How about in this third edition (if there is one) we can get new forms/pokemon with the fossil, where we found the lost halves and make new pokemon.
If that was the case we can have the potential of having up to 8 new pokemon. Think about it, we find the head for the draco and acrto halves and the body for the zolt and vish halves. With that way we can have more mix match pokemon as well as the complete form.
