In roman and greek mythology the sun God is male and the moon God female while in slavic and germanic mythogy the sun God is female and the moon God is male. Japan also has the sun Goddess Amaterasu and the moon God Tsukuyomi.
In most cultures the sky God is male and the earth God female but in ancient egyptian mythology the sky God is female and the earth God male.
Yugioh also has a Tsukuyomi card that could have been used. I thought for some time that Tsukuyomi was female because the artwork makes him look very effeminate.
