>>52975441There's 15 areas, 4 parts of the Paldean sea, and about a dozen locations with unique names. It's also possible to get some encounters in cities if wild Pokemon spawn close enough to them. That's how I got my Oricorio. Its caught location in the summary screen says I caught it in Artazon.
I don't know how many cities this works in but even without those there's at least 30 encounters. Kind of low compared to some other games but definitely doable.
