>>41021257>Are the people who are buying Sword and Shield despite all the flaws just casuals? They're domesticated. It's people who have been fans of Pokemon for years, and have likely never played another RPG, and thus have little context to what outside of Pokemon is like. They have grown up loving Pokemon, and they can't bear to face the idea that Pokemon is bad now. They've built so much of their identity and time with it, to turn against Pokemon is to turn against themselves.
Look at the recent #ThankYouGameFreak hashtag. It's cultlike. Concerns are both ignored and ostracized, and virtues are exaggerated. They can't leave Pokemon, Pokemon is their home.
This was all intentional from the start, the best you can do is to try and get these people away from Pokemon. Expose them to other video games, other hobbies, build their self-confidence. They are unironically in trouble and need help.
