No, fuck off. It ruins game balance. Even if it is easy to evolve by trading, it usually makes an already easy game even easier when you have a fully evolved powerful pokemon way too early. It doesn't feel earned picking a fucking stone off of the ground.
You're either a speedrunner or a child if you prefer alternate evolution methods just because they are easy. I avoid pokemon that evolve with other methods and it sucks because there are pokemon I like and want to try in game, but it feels unsatisfying when I only have the middle form for 5 minutes before realizing that I have a stone in my backpack to evolve them, and that there is no semblance of a difficulty curve when I'm not evolving them at an intended point of the game.
