Thousands of years past, and Giratina lived alone, always gazing into the earth from the mirrorred dimension. A ripple formed a rift between two worlds.
Wary that it might release the underworld monster, the ancestors of Sinnoh people built a shrine to seal the rift. The monster can come out no further than a few feet before the seal open and caused it so much pain that it has no other option than to retreat back into the darkness.
