R/B/Y came out and became big, there were these stickers that came in packs that they sold at card stores and stuff. Somebody brought an assload of them to school once and handed them out to everyone for free. Saw all sorts of people rocking them on binders, lockers, etc. around the entire school. At college I saw even more love for it.
Perhaps it was a fad, I heard of my little bro getting made fun of it at his middle school at around gen-3 or 4 era I believe.
