As for the gimmick, maybe it involves types. My prediction is some sort of armor that’s type related
As for Pokémon we might Dolphin and a tauros variant, tauros is one of the only kanto mons left not to get a mega, g max, special z move, form etc
Also I think Adaman/Iridias ancestor will make an appearance in these games as the oranges/grapes leader or headmaster, hell there could be version exclusive villains like Ruby/Sapphire with them as the leader.
