>>20612357We can't have just 1 guy doing our art, man. Mathias was great but utterly irreplaceable. From what we'd seen up to the point when he left, he was extremely absent, impossible to contact, and didn't do a whole lot of things besides the Dacapo.
All it would take to destroy our game's art direction would be for him to get assblasted by something or just stop showing up altogether. If he left there would be nobody else available to continue making tiles in that style and the game would change in appearance halfway through. You know we can't just let that happen or even risk that happening.
I'd rather have a stable and definite Gen 3.5 style than a flimsy and dangerous Gen 4 style.
