They got away with this perfectly in the sprite games because they cared to tweak the ones that mattered. Meanwhile, despite how many times they wank off Charizard, they haven't cared to actually make it look better where it counts.
XY are peak 3D though, it's just sad because they were rightfully panned as being barebones compared to Gen 5. They need to resolve the Kalos plotlines.
