The pounther pokemon line is phobic of concept art. It originated as a single mon with a single sprite. That pokemon's name was Kitling, a tan-yellow saber toothed tiger. "Wait, what?" you might ask. Don't question the name first of all, the name Pounther is a whole other story. But, the design's progression is more straightforward than I might be implying. A sprite for Pounther was born and it was followed with a sprite for Jaguile as an evolution. The sprite for Pounther was redrawn with an icy flavour for the first design of Cubzero. Then, another cat line's starter was cannabalized and remade into Pounther. Maybe that's not so straightfoward... Long after Jaguile's sprite original was replaced with "proper" concept art it would come back time and time again to haunt it. As people know Jaguile by the sprite more intimately than its concept art, its "actual" design has existed in limbo somewhere between these two warring alternatives for years.
