>>53012613He's a dumbass jerk but not evil, and it's popular (and imo incorrect) to interpret him as having a history of abuse so people interpret him being a destructive jerk as a result of that and think it gives him depth and makes him more worthy of redemption.
For me I liked that the first thing he says in the game is "greetings, cowering public!" And that even slouching, he had to lean down to get in Kukui's face. That really set the tone of the character for me. He's just kind of a funny asshole with some self esteem issues he doesn't handle maturely.
And on here he can call you a punk-ass jabroni and send you Bug pokemon pictures.
