Is it just me being very new to the meta or is this year very hard to get into? I can't seem to have success at all with any team that I try despite them being well balanced. Trying out new things and making my own teams doesn't seem to do much either. I didn't have this problem with VGC15 nor 16, for the record. In fact, in both of those I was easily able to climb up to the 1750s in Battlespot with my own teams.
It's very discouraging that I can't enjoy the format everyone was looking forward to due to me losing against most people (aka losing against non-scrubs). I know I suck, but this is the first time that I feel this way.
Should I just wait until more events happen so I have more options to try and find my playstyle this season? In VGC15 I loved playing with M-Gardevoir, Sand and M-Metagross teams. In VGC16 I loved double Primals and Yveltal. In this one I don't really know since everything I've tried doesn't click with me.
