>>27583033It looks like there'll be no gyms. Instead the main plot is the Island Challenge, where you go from island to island performing trials for a series of island captains. Its been stated that this will not be limited to battling. When you complete all the trials, you battle the Kahuna of the island and/or the Totem pokemon, which is a souped up version of a regular pokemon with buffs and the ability to summon other pokemon to the battle, then you go to the next island. There's four islands in total.
