You could hack your 3DS (easy yada yada) and pirated both a copy of that game and the Save Data Transfer Tool, which moves your save from a cartridge to the digital version of said game (not the other way, however). This would allow you to keep it in Bank as long as you see fit and move through gen 6/7, especially now that it's free.
