>>43142961I'm in a similar position, a friend I talk to regularly is a supermarket security guard and has been telling me how the shop staff get bonuses but he's seeing minimum wage for throwing out all these arseholes pretend coughing on each other and popping out for single Red Bull cans twice in the same day. His town is one of the corona capitals of our shitty county and our mutual friends have had deaths literally across the road from them where their parents work. I'm having dreams about trying to drive to them and being stopped part way and realising we're not allowed. Somehow the risk isn't sinking in enough, they're so blasé about things it's memes as usual between us and I haven't had the panic set in. Every time they mention where they are and what they're doing though I feel out of place. I don't have the right to talk about this stuff with my experience. Maybe that was always true but now I'm scared to leave the house and touch anything it's absolutely true.
I want to say something supportive like 'it's not us that's useless, it's the virus that renders everyone helpless', but they're the ones who're doing something.
