So after looking over the handful of pokemon I had I noticed my scatterbug had a nature that decreased his special attack and my Hoppip had a nature that also decreased her special attack. I looked it up on the
poke-net and Hoppip is equally (weak) in both attack and special attack, so I got different mons. I also had cabbage rolls in sphagetti sauce and perogies with tea for lunch!
