You kids have no fucking idea how great it was when most kids at school either played the game, watched the anime or owned the trading cards... it was everywhere, even the girls liked it.
The original RBY created what you enjoy now, it was the gen that started it all, the music was absolutely epic and watching the first movie on cinema one of my fondest memories.
Was it imbalanced? It had glitches? Yeah, but it was also purer and more innocent. No megaevolution bullshit, just love for your pokemon and fun with your friends.
