The Stone Edge weakness sucks, and no one is more aware of that than the game designers and the Pidgeot fans. Thunder and Blizzard suck too but you can't consider them a huge threat considering their current rarity. We don't know what to expect from Mega Pidgeot yet. Boosts to the relevant stat and Hurricane abuse are a really great start, and provide it with a usable niche. Time will tell what else, if anything, it brings to the table and how effective it will be.
