>>13672059The first generation has some of the most iconic designs of all time. Almost any person can recognize them as Pokémon even if they aren't familiar with the franchise.
The next generation has plenty of forgettable pokémon, I'm saying this as a johtoddler, but to this day it has the best looking legendaries.
Generation 3 has the worst overall feel to its pokémon designs, from the derpy legendaries to stuff like Hariyama it feels like they rushed most of them and the blotchy sprites didn't help. It also has some of the all-time best designs though.
Generation 4 was a step up from gen 3, I don't mind much the over-the-top designs. Pokémon seemed to get more streamlined and in hindsight they did better than...
Generation 5. The most divisive one to date, tried to be gen 1 all over again and it somehow managed to have sillier pokémon than previous generations. Most of the complaints given to gen 4 can be applied wholly this time. That said, it had some neat-o desings but it seems that anything could pass-off as a pokémon now...
Which seems to be the case in Geration 6. Good thing the gameplay seems to make up for it and now we aren't restricted to new pokémon only.
