My dad really doesn't care for anime but still thought Meowth was funny whenever I forced him to watch pokemon with me. He might just get coded as Jewish since most humorous New Yorkers would be Jewish as comedy is an industry full of Jews. Obviously no one in Pokemon is Jewish or Christian or any real world religion, but Meowth just sounds that way because the idea of a pokemon world seperate than our own with its own distinct culture and history wasn't something cartoon execs cared about. He also breaks the fourth wall a lot and refers to the fact he is a cartoon character so really him being Jewish wouldn't be the strangest thing you could infer from his dialog. I know this is a troll thread but I really hate canon fags who don't think about how not every cartoon creator gives a shit about things making sense and just sometimes make decisions because they're funny. Staryu is an example of the Japanese creators also making a nonsensical joke. Staryu makes the same noises as Ultraman because in Japan they have similar names and glowing orbs that blink when they faint.
