>>52362139I quit after Sun & Moon because:
>Pokemon's templated formula got too stale for me>Games barely added anything substantially cool, yet kept dragging around so many archaic mechanics>postgames next to non-existant>no good ways to battle 6v6, specifically asking other players takes too long and can leave you with a team full of badly trained legendaries or someone's fucking playthrough team>That was also around the time when I finally started to branch out more to other RPGs like Final Fantasy or the older Fire Emblems which captivated me much more in a way Pokemon hasn't done for me in yearsFor the longest time I haven't really looked back but there is still an itch to just build a team of monsters and see what designs they came up with.
Yet I'm also confident that I could jump back into the series with S/V with no issues since its so stagnant which is where my problem is. Admittedly, I'm considering maybe getting a used copy if I can find it on a low price, I'm willing to wait unless I lose interest.
I don't want to give up this franchise entirely though, I really just want to see it improve and wait until then
