Vaporeon can pass incredibly potent Wishes or Substitutes due to it's signature 130 HP stat, and again, it likes to burn physical attackers with Scald.
Sylveon can break Outrages and get a free turn, assuming the foe doesn't carry poison moves. Unlike Vaporeon, it gets access to the two screen moves and Calm Mind, giving it the ability to boost itself in a way that Vaporeon could only dream of.
