In BW2 I never tried out Magnemite before but once given the chance I realized how awesome the entire line is. In my 2nd run of ORAS I got a Scatterbug off of Wondertrade and a Drilbur egg from a friend, both Pokemon I never used in their debut generation, and they were excellent members of my team. Vivillion is fucking awesome.
A Pokemon doesn't need to be new to the generation for you to try them out, they just have to be new to YOU. Removing Pokemon just limits your options on finding new friends and puts a serious dent in Pokemon's replay value. No one wins here.
