>>38975749Glad you bring that up cause it's a good point: there are many other games available. If you don't like how GameFreak continuously does things, leave or even just stick to the side games. The effort poured into a game doesn't stop existing just because you don't like what it amounted to. If the new game looks like shit, say so and skip it, but acting like it's because of no national dex is an excuse, itself.
I hate when people bring it up in context to Pokemon, but look at Digimon. Newer games look great and, besides its own version of gen one pandering, are what people are going to say has "much more effort poured into them". However, the latest game barely goes over 25% of all digimon, not including my favorites. If having every mon makes it objectively better, does that mean it doesn't put in as much effort as Yokai Watch, which I hear has every yokai in it? But some of those are recolors or have slight edits. Does that mean it doesn't put in as much many other games? Directly comparing games like these isn't so simple when so many factors lead to favoring one of the other.
And you say "most profitable media franchise", but you don't get what that means. They don't funnel everything into the main games, even money from the main games won't come around back. Movies, anime, television shows, commercials, toys, snacks, art, websites, teams for a spin-off, teams for a different spin-off: The Pokemon Company is huge, and that's not even including GameFreak. The phrase "they have a lot of money, they should do something with it" doesn't work when you're talking about a multi-media franchise that is doing something with it. Having money doesn't make someone able to snap their fingers and make a 10/10 game. These are still the same people working with the same mindsets. Hate the "muh workers" excuse cause yes, GameFreak should be accountable to the mistakes they make, but these are still just the same people trying to make a game, with more expectations.
