"Normal"-type gym leader
5 pokemon team, with a mega. Meant to be in the middle of the league challenge and the first mega of the league.
Gym is a large auditorium. He is a classical musician, and the auditorium is used for local concerts. Carries around a dull rapier he uses as a baton and has a reputation of using it to assault pokemon. Is mostly mute when you first meet him; has a Chatot on his shoulder which speaks for him.
When you challenge him, the auditorium goes dark and he sends out a Kricketune. Piano music starts playing, and Chatot gives all the orders to his pokemon.
Kricketune is pretty shit, but it can do Focus Sash+Endeavor shenanigans.
After Kricketune, he sends out Chimecho. It's a stubborn pokemon in that Chimecho can only produce 7 different tones. It bulks up with Cosmic Power and Recover, then sweeps with Stored Power.
Once you beat both of them, Chatot flies off his shoulder and starts battling you itself.
Chatter confuses 100% of the time and if that doesn't work, then Boomburst/Heat Wave might.
Once Chatot is defeated, he pulls out his rapier and starts fighting your pokemon himself. The shock value alone is enough to make some challengers quit, possibly to go complain to someone won't do anything about it.
Beating him reveals that it was his Ditto all along. The curtain at the back of the stage raises, revealing him on the piano the whole time. He brings the piano music to a finish and slow clapping can be heard from the audience.
The auditorium lights up, revealing Audino as the only one watching. As "the hearing pokemon", it is his greatest critic. It makes its way on stage as he switches places with Ditto at the piano.
A faster tune begins to play (think gen 5 last pokemon theme) as he mega evolves Audino.
As a "big boss finale" pokemon, it would mostly use "big" moves like Fire Blast/Thunder/Blizzard.
Only after you beat him do you hear him speak for the first time, congratulating you.
