You can do that with the WiiU version too, it isn't "modding", theres an area to make things, upload things, and download things.

It is seriously in the game though, and it's allowed because no one has trademarked it or anything like that.
They did get sued for having Nyan cat in their game though

/vp/ is an anon board, like every other board on this site. There's no way of telling who actually created the original Tentaquil, therefore any company can then trademark it and own it (which I assume the creators of Scribblenauts did).

No legal shit had to be done because this is 4chan. We don't "own" characters because there's no way of proving it, especially long after the fact.

That's not the point though. No one's claiming ownership, the anon who made it might have buggered off my now. The point is that it was pretty low to take a character they knew no one was kick up a fuss about, because like you say, it's anonymous.

The fundamental problem with your argument is that they aren't claiming ownership over it. It was added into the game, and the only people who would ever find it or care about its existence are people who post here on /vp/. Sure, Tentaquil is one of the most arbitrary internet memes they could have added, but the fact of the matter is that it's in there and it isn't hurting anybody. I'm pretty sure it doesn't even DO anything when summoned, so nobody would even care to summon one other than to see it. I'm not actually sure what you're even mad about.

Apparently Nyan Cat's owners DID copyright Nyan Cat, it's just they didn't make that known to many people and didn't bother taking down copyright-violating videos involving nyan cat. Why they cared about scribblenauts is beyond me. Either way, the lawsuit never went through.
