Getting game in an hour.
Going to SR for starter.
Getting Froakie.

I assume I want Adamant nature. Modest flies too.
How do I know if the IV's are good? Does anyone actually use the characteristic's description? seems to unreliable.

I used a Samurott with Lonely Nature and 0 Def IVs and a Modest Excadrill before. They still destroyed everything, no fucks given

As long as you know how to set up a simple strategy and what move is effective against your opponent's Pokemon IVs and natures don't mean shit.
Unless you encounter an NPC that represents Smogon.

Getting the right nature is the minimal effort required. I was just wondering if there's a way to know were it's stats lie.
Obviously I'm not going to hold out for a all 31 IV's, and there probably isn't anyway to know if it's a 31 IV. I just don't want all my IV's to be <10

I got the game last night and just got home from work.

What do you guys think Froakies nature should be? From what I've read online his special and physical are fairly similar in terms of stats, but you probably shouldn't try to run mixed with him since they're both fairly low.

So what do guys?

Go with whatever is higher.

His special attack base stat is slightly higher, but so I'd go that way, but depending on his IV's you might want to go with physical
