Quick question. What EV's do I put on my to be Aegislash? I don't really get the stance switch thingy. So should i use him as a tank, phisycal sweeper or as a bulky physical sweeper? Was thinking 255 hp, 255 Atk and 4 Spe? It's admant btw. Probably a dumb question but i would appricate some help. Ty

impish or adamant because the stance switch ability switches his attack with defense vise versa. this way he is protected from special attacks and then you can fuck people when you switch stance to attack

Yeah, you can fuck with people real good when you have 0 attack EVs

Just wait until smogon comes out with some sets or something OP, since we don't even know if things like physical steel STAB will be useful yet

In this case those defense EVs also count for attack when it changes form.

Pretty sure it only swaps the base stats since there's no default form. EIther way, HP would go a hell of a lot further.

As far as I know, you WANT it being slower than everything else because of its ability.

Its ability works by having one form with 150/150 offenses, and one form with 150/150 defenses. All its other base stats are 60. When it uses an attack it switches to its Sword/Offense stance, and when it uses a non-attacking move (like King's Shield or Swords Dance) it switches to its Shield/Defense stance.

I can't find anything about it switching its actual offense/defense stats, but I'll test it with my own aegislash ingame.

King's Shield being like protect and having insane priority is a great way to switch it back to Shield form in an emergency.

While there will be a few ways of using him. I think the best method is.

252HP/252Attack with a Brave (-ve speed, +ve attack) nature. A -ve speed nature is the most important part of the set

Swords Dance
Kings Shield
Iron Head
Shadow Claw

Sure you can go with evs in defences but it's pretty pointless. 150 all round defence with the HP investment is more than enough. You want him to be 1 hit KO pokemon after taking the hit in defence mode.

The trick to using him is always letting your opponent hit first while it's in defence mode and attacking slower.. Use Kings Shield (priority move remember) to get back in to defence for the next turn. After a swords dance, it's raping everything.

Can doublade learn Kings Shield? And isn't the fact that he can't spam Swords dances by abusing the stanceswitches a big drawback that would make him much worse than Aegislash. And don't forget Aegislash can also use any good item.
