yeah

apparently everything before gen V calculates ev's at the levelup

so you can max 252ev's per stat before you level, enabling huge guts gains

Other way around. Super Training is EV training. EVs are Effort Values. Hiddens values that decide what stats go up. It takes more than one EV to raise your stat by one, which is why they're hidden. Super Training is GameFreak's approach to making these hidden values less hidden without removing them. They want the casual crowds to get a chance strong Pokemon the way competitive players and neckbeards have for years. You can still EV train the same way you always did, but Super Training is a good way to keep track of EVs, potentially reset EVs to train more cleanly, and in the early stages of the game Super Training is faster.

Doesn't even matter a little. Might make the game easier if you maxed your EVs at a low level, but the stats come out the same way in the end either way.

no, ev's make a difference of at most 63 in a stat
if you have two blisseys with max hp iv but one without ev investment, one will be 713 and the outher will be 649

Ok so I know how EV's work now.
How do IV's work?

Do I have to just pick out 2 of 20 Pikachus for example, that have the best nature and stats at level 1, until I get a pokemon with an overall number of 31?

Can someone explain how to IV breed?

There's an IV for each stat that is between 0 and 31. They're completely separate from other stats. You can check the general area of your IVs with an NPC in the post-game town. Different dialogue means your IV in x stat is between # and #, etc.

Pokemon have IV values for each stat that range from 0 to 31.
Friend Safari pokemon have guaranteed 31 in two stats, so they make ideal pokemon to breed from. Power items like Power Brace are used to pass on a certain kind of IV.

So you get one parent with a nature you want, give it an everstone, and the other parent you want to pass IVs down you give the matching power item.

So talk to a dude who will say whats my best stat, give it a bracer. Get another of that egg group (If I want a certain move) or another of that pokemon, check what its best stat is

Breed said pokemon that have good stats in say Speed and SP.Att

Recieve pokemon with Higher chance in good Speed and SP.ATT

Repeat until I achieve 31 in these two stats?
Is it possible to get a perfect 31 in all? Or just a waste of time?

Ev's were easier to follow (Just grind certain pokemon, keep count, doesnt matter now thanks to super training), I didnt understand the IV part.
