It's slow, Hoenn is terrible, most gym leader were either really easy or really hard, water, shitty soundfont, backtracking without Fly, started with the huge amount of legendaries and retarded stories, had no Physical/Special split that's not the fault of the Gen, but it's still awful.

FR/LG was really meh, too.

I remember when I was little and my mother's Japanese friend bought me this glossy Pokemon binder as a gift. This was before me and the other kids knew about Gen 2, and the binder featured nine cards of the new Johto starters in each evolution and a fold-out depicting tons of new pokemon I'd never seen before.

I was fascinated with it for months, my mum once joked I had stars in my eyes when I looked at it.

Little kid me would probably have his head explode if all 700+ were revealed to him that day.
