Dear lord how long is this game? He wasn't slacking of or anything. I did get less interested in this gen but its it really that good?

nah, the big break between getting the first and second badge goes away once you get to the second gym, the rest are one right after another and really easy.

My friend rushed through it in 15 hours, but missed a bunch of stuff.

I went around and did side stuff and got the credits in 40 hours.

There's a lot of things to do and, although I wouldn't say it's the best Pokemon game yet, it certainly rekindled my interest in the series, and it's the first since Gen3 I've played over 100 hours in.
