So what are some good "general use" ingame mons? Not talking about exclusively HM slaves, but things like Flame Body Fliers (so Volcarona/Talonflame are definite), dedicated 'mons for catching shit, and Sweet Scent guys. Also kind of want them to be not complete shit things because autism.

You mean utility pokemon?

Synchronize pokemon of each useful nature so you can get a leg up on breeding from friend safari

Trace pokemon to know if a friend safari pokemon has its hidden ability

Oddish with sweet scent for horde EV training

Lapras for surfing, strength, rock smash, waterfall, and wrecking hordes.

Compoundeyes ability pokemon for farming items off of wild pokemon. Especially useful for heart scales, and things like Thick Club that have only 5% chance of being held.

Diggersby, Gourgeist, Linoone, etc with Pickup for farming PP Ups, Rare Candies, and such

Tropius makes a great horde farmer with access to Fly and Sweet Scent and area kill moves

Hawlucha is a great HM slave for land travel, Bibarel or Azumarill are good for water

I like using Gardevoir for friend safaris due to access to Trace and Thunder Wave
