Because one of the points of the game is to get you used to the things you encounter online. You should have a counter to sleep a users, if its that serious a weakness. Have a sleep talker or something.

I prefer smogon singles than VGC doubles.
But I play both and know the diferent metagames.

Trying to add smogon's clauses to the game is the same to BUH-HUU WHY CAN'T I USE DOUBLE TEAM.

They are just two diferent metas, don't mix them up. If you don't like one, just play the other.
