The chances are higher if the friend whose safari you're on is online at the moment.
But even when offline it isn't rare at all. I think about a third of the dittos I caught were one of those pricks that transform immediatly

Why would you want a Sheer Force one when you could just opt for Intimidate and immediate Mega Evolution?

You only unlock hidden abilites when you unlock all 3 safari mons in one zone, i.e. when your friend has beaten E4 and you've met him only afterwards.

If you're using the mega don't do it.
Mega Mawile has Sheer Force by default, so if you have Intimidate you can lower attack then mega evolve imediatly to get Sheer Force

I just got a shiny Infiltrator Spiritomb in a FS with all three Pokemon, but I was offline. I assume that means the only requirement is having all three unlocked.
