I'm tired of using my bros and getting beat by Smogon. I'm thinking of joining the family.

For every one time my Cinccino beats an Alakaza - a Rotom-W or a Genesect or oh God, Talonflame, wrecks my team a dozen times.

Does "git gud" mean to accept Smogon into my heart and create a team with Mega Lucario, Rotom-W, that green thorn thing, Talonflame, Genesect and Heatran?

You could stand to be not retarded.
Sure, the Karenfag philosophy is blatantly anti-smogon, but that's not the same case the other way around. Just because Smogon is putting you into position to use more strong Pokemon doesn't mean you have to give up using your favorites as well.

Learn team synergy, learn what support is, learn your cinccino can't fucking take on a talonflame, but a good rock type of yours can, and that rock type will basically be there to lengthen Cinccino's life. Now grab a Sableye or a Cofagrigus or something because you're suddenly weak to fighting.
Being good at Pokemon doesn't mean using the best, it means making the best out of them. Pokemon isn't 1v1. How well Pokemon work with other Pokemon is a part of how good they are too.

And besides, it's not like Tyranitar can't suddenly become one of your favorite Pokemon because it's saved your ass so many times. Just because it happens under the context of competitive doesn't make it any less valid than the same reasoning for my Crobat wrecking shit for me in Crystal.

If you tried to git gud by using top tier OUs, your prediction skills would still be shit, and you would likely still lose all the time.
