So, Defog did a nice job making the game less focused on Mischievous Sediment, and weather nerfs solved the weather war crisis. What do you propose, if anything, be done about Competition: Gen VI: Priority Edition? From Burritos to Bravest Birds and even Pranksters, this gen seems far more focused on setting up with offensive buffs while ignoring the speed stat. The few pokemon with Unaware are either too slow or to fragile to properly ignore the likes of Mega-Lucario's monstrous unboosted stats, and the same is true of Prankster Haze from Murkrow. This is not a meta salt, hate, or cry thread. This is a super srs talky time thread about how the meta is shaping at the moment and what, again, if anything, might be done about it on Gamefreak's part. I'm not for the banning of any Pokemon in the meta at the moment, and have no hard feelings for losing to a sweep if and when it happens. And of course, preemptively>gamefreak in charge of game balance >git gud and>obscure moveset that is designed to fight one specific threat

A move that can block all abilities for five turns, ironically usable by a pokemon with Prankster. Like a sort-of suicide solution.

A move that forces a switch from both pokemon to a team mate of each player's own choosing is the only thing I can think of that would 100% stop setups, but that would likely have negative priority in the first place. I'm not the most original idea maker, but it's something.

Trick Room now also reverse priority

I hate that shit.

>>17217325 For real? Sweet.
I know the general consensus on /vp/ is if you use it, you're stupid, but I like the challenge. I have no idea how people find using the same 8 or 9 Pokemon with Smogon sets fun.
I think im going to test the waters, and see if I can't build a TR team that completely fucks with the biggest threats, and stuff mentioned in the OP.

I think priority should just wprk as if the pokemon speed was *1.5 or something and priority +2 will be *2

>>17217363 Of course not m8, it was only an idea to fix the priority war.
Trick Room in singles is sandly too gimmick to work, since you only have 5 turns, maybe implementing an item that increases the duration at 8 turns, like the weather stones, would make TR usable.

>>17217363 Not for real.
>>17217325 was making a suggestion that would be anti-priority.

I hope Gamefreak IS aware of the whole priority thing at least. Weather was bad enough in BW to make them finally change weather abilities which had been permaweather for 3 generations. Granted, it's not as overcentralizing as weather wars but it completely disregards the whole point of Speed. Something like Mega Aerodactyl with its base 150 speed gets taken down by a Aqua Jet by 50 base speed Azumarill.

Also, to follow on from
>>17217388 , I prefer doubles, so that wouldn't been as much of a problem, but I agree we need a TR Stone. I'd say we need a Pokemon that instantly sets up TR, ala' Drizzle or Drought, but something tells me people would scream BAN, just because it would turn the generic smogon teams on their heads.

>>17217325 I would prefer a separate "Room" attack that simply flattened positive priority (leaving negative unaffected)
Magic Room or something
Anonymous
>>17217409 Yeah, I'd love a pokemon with that ability, and I don't think it will be too broken, since TR lasts only 5 turns.
It surely would make TR a top treat and affect teambuilting, but hey, so do the weathers.

>>17217414 >White Room >5 BP >Normal >Pseudo Weather condition that causes priority moves other than protect and switchout pursuit to have 0 priority for 5 turns (8 holding a Magic Wand, as with Gravity and the other Room moves) >Stats can not be lowered or raised while White Room is in effect, but any stat boosts already in effect stay >Suppresses abilities that hinder the effectiveness of moves (Everyone can have mold breaker!) H-how'd I do, /vp/?

>>17217439 Getting hit by bits of damage is hardly comparable to moving last... I hate to say it but I think I would support banning that Ability, unless it had some kind of nerf, like only 3 turns. It would simply force everyone to run slow offensive mons like Tyranitar, and of course our lovely friends Ferro and Mushroom would be overused to all hell.
