Yes it did but not its stats. The move Techno Blast now has 120 Base Power which makes it somewhat usable on paper but not really competitively.

It has to use a Drive though. It's scarf that makes him overpowered, but I could imagine it's possible to make a good mixed set with Shift Gear and Techno Blast.

The problem with drives is that his in game sprite/model gives away the drive type from the color, and also makes the opponent aware you're not scarfed.

In gen 5 you couldn't see the drive during team preview, so your opponent wouldn't know it wasn't scarfed until it came out (and the shock drive was extremely easy to mistake for the regular one). I don't know how it is in gen 6, though.

Well it's not like you can ever tell the held item of given pokèmon from team preview, I was obviuosly speaking of once it came into play.
