I love everything about 4th gen. This includes HG, SS, Platinum, Diamond, and Pearl. I love the pokemon, I love the storylines, fuck I even love the smogon tiers. Post your teams, your ships, your movesets, everything that has to do with 4th gen.

Fuck yes.

I just beat the E4 and Cynthia in a Platinum run. I hate Cynthia with a passion. Also the fucking lake trio are shit, and Sinnoh is kind of terrible.

But I like a lot of the 4th gen Pokemon.

This was probably the part I enjoyed the most.
Also Cynthia best champ, and Rowan best professor.

Now if only the region wasn't so forgettable, and the plot/Team Galactic not the worst in the series...

I think gen VI takes the cake for worst plot/team in the series.

Platinum's probably my favorite entry in the series, though I admit gen V is a step up.

I dunno. Gen VI's plot and team sucked, but at least the team got so little exposure that I didn't take offense to it., and the plot would have had some potential if they'd presented it better.

Team Plasma, however, is omnipresent throughout the game, and each and every one of its members tries their hardest to be as stereotypical and generic as possible.

For the love of God, he was trying to create a new universe. It wasn't just "hurr durr destroy everything!!" Christ, why do so many people get this wrong? His motivation is explicitly spelled out over and over and over again in the games, yet people still fuck it up. It's not that hard to understand.

4th gen was the first time we got to play pokemon on w ifi with hand helds so thats a huge rep that goes to 4th gen alone

I thought the battle music for the most part was awful. I want to see garys fire red/leaf green theme beaten but with this weird music style the pokemon games use now I don't think we'll be doing that any time soon

Smogon try hard wise it was pretty good. Tier wasn't too offensively OP, weather wasn't everywhere like 5th gen, we didn't have team preview which is a huge + for me I hate team preview very much. 3rd gen still my favorite battling gen though. Didn't have the OP offensive of 4-6 but still had offense and wasn't stallish like 2nd gen. had a bunch of different pokemon to play with and cool sets like focus punch and calm mind were everywhere

Game playthrough felt underwhelming though. Never really felt like I was on an adventure just felt like I was cruising through the cities until I got good which was weird to me b
