Wouldn't a Life Orb get the job done quicker, where the HP cost doesn't matter if you're good enough at sweeping?

Metronome is fucking shit. If you honestly think it's good, you will be amazed when you use Life Orb instead. In order to do more damage with Metronome than Life Orb, you have to use the same move four times in a row, and even then the difference is minimal (around 3%). Only when you have used the same move five or more times in a row does the difference actually start to matter, but there are VERY few cases (none against advanced players) where you can just freely spam the same move over and over again effectively.
