why? because singles is what I'm most used to, 3v3 is shit, and smogon's banlist is better than any other banlist out there.

3v3 singles battlespot.
It's faster and I'm not restricted by tiers when I build my team.
I wish there was some 6v6 free battle but I can always go to showdown for that.

VGC

I just like how incredibly fast and neat it is and how you don't have to worry about "What item is he holding?" and "Is he gonna switch?" plus prediction playsba bigger role than choice of Pokémon.

In 6v6 just by looking at your opponent's Pokémon you can already tell you've lost. VGC feels like checkers where everything's sort of a leveled playing field.

I'm not a fan of vgc this year with the kalos only rule. If vgc '15 ends up being basically battle spot doubles and a dark void ban, I'll definately get into it.

6v6 UU, OU monotype, and 1v1 are what I tend to lean towards.

OU is full of elitists with copy-pasted teams and movesets. My bros are actually viable in UU and I have more fun experimenting, same thing with monotype. 1v1 because Cinccino gets to 1HKO dozens of Charizards daily and that feels fucking great.

Battle Spot Doubles and VGC.

Because Doubles is just beautiful. Many more options per turn compared to Singles, Protect, spread moves interactions, speed comparisons, Quick and Wide Guard, and few turns so that every decision matters.

Because of the skill inherent in Doubles play, the top Doubles mons aren't as far off lower-tier mons as in Singles. Mega Kanga is entirely beatable in Doubles even with VGC restrictions.

All that plus actual face-to-face tournaments. It's glorious.
