Had a great time playing Diamond but if you don't choose Chimchar as a starter your only other option is Ponyta/Rapidash for fire pokemon. Platinum has the move tutors, Rotom forms, & special event legendaries.

I actually trained a Skuntank explicitly because it's the ONLY other Pokemon that can learn a strong Fire-type move other than Rapidash and Infernape.

All right so Platinum it is.

I can't tell which of these I like better. What did you guys choose? The only Pokemon game I went female in was Black 2.

The only generation I've yet to play has been Gen 4.

Also OP, don't be afraid of grinding. I'm currently playing it and I can say you'll find it harder than you expect. It's very fun still.

Why do I keep hearing this? There was nothing difficult about Platinum. The reason why Diamond and Pearl actually are mildly challenging is because of the retarded level curve.
