Practicing on Showdown all went to waste with the whole being forced to use Gourgeist thing but ended up 23-7 so meh

Yup, same here. Did a lot worse than in the previous comps sadly, but I blame it to the fact that I didn't test this team beforehand, like, at all.

Also Sableye was beyond useless, which was especially weird considering I often struggled to beat the Sabs on opponent's side. I blame the poor EV spread - I really should have dumped at least a couple of EVs into SDef, even though I was running Calm Mind.

Also fuck Will-O-Wisp. Lost at least two matches thanks to it missing at the worst possible time.

Basically it was Sableye who fucked me over most of the time.
Although there was some fun shit like my Mega Banette using Imprison on Choice Band Gourgeist screwing the opponent. Also Sucker Punch SashGengar was excellent.

sableye on the opposing team fucked me over. I ran a trick scarf set that completely ruined other sableye when I brought it, but for some matches I opted to go for spiritomb instead. I didn't use crotomb that much and when I did, it was 50-50. My lead was kasib chandelure with overheat/shadow ball/substitute, pain split. I kekked when people tried to phantom force on it and I just set up a sub with my kasib still intact.

Awful. First day had challenging matches and went 8-2. Second day I went 9-11 and didn't bother on the third as I was so annoyed. Every match felt bullshitty as fuck, such as constantly flinches and missing every will-o-wisp. I didn't really like using Gourgeist either, but I'm glad I trained it up, choice banded phantom force hits anything hard. Definitely learnt some interesting tricks from this one, I was never expecting stuff like brightpowder calm mind sableye to wreck my shit.

I missed more than half of my WoWs while the opponent never missed. And I got swagplayed to death by a jap who had the same rating as me. I was swept 3-0 for the last battle, what a great ending.
