sure, but that sp atk IV isn't always guaranteed, while with the 5IV mon you have a higher chance with the 6IV mon to get the 5IVs you want or 6IVs.

Do you have X/Y with a mon with the destiny knot? Why not put a zigzagoon on ORAS up on the GTS and swap over to your X/Y cart and trade a mon holding the knot.

Worst case scenario in that configuration, you can actually end up with a 3IV egg mon. If every one was 3 IV, that'd be unlucky. 4 IVs? eh, tough shit. keep going. Stop acting like it's the games fault

fuck the destiny knot passing 5 IVs
think of it as picking 1 IV to not pass

so in this case, the only IV you want it to not pass is, say, special attack
that is 1 out of 6 stats or a 1/6 chance

then for the other stats you want from a specific parent
like if only one has 31 in speed and the other one has 17 or w/e
each one is a coinflip
