Never post here, so I don't really know what to expect or what you guys think about this game but I have a few questions.

1. What gen pokemon are included in this game? Is it just gen3? any gen1 or 2?

2. Whats the overall opinion of the game?

3. How long is it? Is there an endgame? Can I just continue to catch pokemon and do shit once I beat it?

it's about as long as most pokemon games. 25-30 hours if you go fast. 35-40 if you go slow. it has all of the pokemon from the hoenn region.

after you beat the game it has even more pokemon. i think it's good. it's a remake so it's pretty much as good as the original but with vastly improved playability, graphics, and interface.

All generations up to the most current are in all mainline games. This is a constant, so you can complete the national pokedex in each game. However, the game restricts what you can catch prior to the E4 (keep in mind you can always trade with people that have other versions, so you can have Pokemon you cannot normally get). Postgame though there's a good bunch of extra mons you can catch.

"Meh" is the average opinion. It's well liked by a good population and not-so-liked by some few, for several reasons. You may have fun if you don't expect a hardcore game.

25 hours in average, not counting postgame.

Yes. It's an okay postgame though.

Of course, once you're done you can keep playing indefinitely.

So where can I go to trade with people for pokemon? I don't know anyone with a 3DS nor anyone with pokemon. Does books-a-million do saturday morning pokemon specials like they used to do with pokemon cards?

Although I'd feel awkward being a full grown man showing up to one of those....

You can trade with random passers-by just by logging onto a wifi connection. There's also the Global Trading System (GTS), and Wonder Trade, both of which are great.

Do you even internet? Pokemon, starting two gens ago, embraced the internet and it's being used as the platform for trades. So, your options are:

- Regular trade: Contact a friend you've registered in your 3DS, and agree to trade. You both need to have internet connection and each other's friend code.
- Wonder Trade: Put a pokemon, get a pokemon. Most of the time you'll get shit, but you may also get some good stuff.
- GTS: Global Trade System, you deposit a Pokemon and ask for another Pokemon. Unlike Wonder Trade you know what you're asking for so if your Pokemon gets traded it'll be whatever you asked for. You can also seek mons and trade them yourself, but most offers are shit (i.e. rattata for mewtwo).

There's a wifi thread around here so you may ask for certain pokemon, make sure your offer is good. And, some people love to do giveaways, so you may be able to get certain stuff for almost a free price (you just gotta trade a shitmon for it).

The Wi-Fi general thread here on /vp/, various giveaway threads, or even reddit has a pretty solid trading community if you want. There are tons of online trading communities and threads wherever you look.
