Can I just soft reset and keep battling the young couple in Sea Mauville for a destiny knot or do I have to actually let their battle timer reset?

I did like 12 master contests trying to do that and got nothing but berries and other stuff, Im debating whether the long ass contests or SRing the young couple will be faster
