A plot point of the comic was Brendan's Poochyena, Rocky, which ended up getting "two strains of Pokerus" through Team Aqua and Magma shenanigans- which made him shiny, gave him the ability to speak, and gave him a move called "Random" which was basically a cross between Mimic and Metronome. To wit, Rocky would use Random, it'd become a random move, and then he'd keep said move for the remainder of the battle.
Why he didn't just get Metronome is beyond me. I guess Recon Dye (the fat fedora-wearing loser
