Hey I'm trying to get into doubles. I wonder what the best support moves are in doubles? Things like Helping Hand, etc. And just general doubles tips. I'm very new to this.

Anyways, follow me is useful for set up sweepers and to fuck with some strategies like anger point tauros or sturdy shedinja.

Protect, Fake Out, Helping Hand, Mat Block, Wide Guard, Quick Guard, and Follow Me are all excellent support moves!

I think just playing it a lot is your best tip. It's very matchup-oriented, I feel.

Speed control is important. Icy wind, tailwind, thunder wave and trick room are all solid options.

Protect on basically everything.
Speed control should be somewhere on your team
Depending on what metagame you're in, Rage Powder/Follow me or Wide Guard can be very good. In VGC16, most of the big threats rely heavily on spread moves, so Wide Guard is good.
Fake Out is great, especially if you want to be able to set up or get speed control going for your team to sweep better
Intimidate is god

Protect on almost everything
Learn to prioritize who to attack first on the other side and to predict if they'll Protect
Fake Out is a great move and can set up some interesting strategies, same with Follow Me and Rage Powder
Remember that spread attacks only do 75% the damage they normally do in doubles
Helping Hand is more of a niche move for support Pokemon without a better option or if you really need that extra buff in power
Don't bother with the official format this year, 2016 rules are trash
Certain glass cannon Pokemon like Greninja aren't nearly as overpowered as in singles thanks to potentially being taken out by both of your Pokemon on the field
Moves like Trick Room are a lot more common, so learn to identify what kind of team you'll be up against in team preview

Oh, Greninja's not BAD per say, just a lot harder to use.

Also, from what I remember, Mat Block is basically unused past low ladder because it has no priority and doesn't affect status moves. I think it's better in triples though.
