So, assuming each of these Ultra Beasts ARE actually NPC's, like Lillie, Gladion, Guzma, the Aether Foundation, Team Skull, etc... ... And, that they're catchable/shiny... So, we'll be capturing NPC's. This will be different from Lati@s pretending to be a human, or the Zoroark NPC growling at us... We will be capturing essentially human characters. This means that they have emotions, goals, desires, all determined by their story roles and dialogue -- and then we capture them, neuter them intellectually, and make them our battle slaves? NEXT -- It's obvious that both the Aether Foundation and Team Skull have their own Ultra Beasts that pose as their admins. So will there be both good and bad UB's, depending on the game version (like aqua/magma)? Version exclusive alliances {vomit} ? After all, look at my post image here. Sun has UB-01 Absorption (Team Skull?) and Moon has UB-02 Beauty (Aether Foundation). I'M SAYING THIS -- TEAM SKULL ARE GOOD GUYS IN MOON (night/dark), AND AETHER FOUNDATION ARE GOOD GUYS IN SUN (light/day). Lastly, from the descriptions, we're pretty sure that Type:Null was created to model Arceus, to combat the Ultra Beasts. But who made it, Skull or Aether? And either team has Ultra Beasts as admins who use it, so what is its real mission? And what do the box legends have to do with it all? Let's discuss stuff!

UB beauty looks so stupid in that cut scene. did they really think that frail thing would be intimidating. Sun is the superior version

>>29298483 Even so, look at the two. It makes sense. They take place in two alternate universes, like ORAS set up for us with Maxie/Archie. Each team is good and bad in its own ways.
Moon will probably be the more interesting game, if Team Skull are the good guys.

>>29298147 >Moral of the story is why do we use pokemon to fight when we're hurting them. >Aether is trying to prevent pokemon from being hurt by making a paradise (Lusamine) >Skull is trying to steal all the pokemon to prevent them from being used to fight (Gladion) The UBs are against the use of Pokemon as weapons of war or entertainment. And they have a point.

That would be boring... But it makes sense.

>>29298147 maybe the UBs are failed attempts at "battle bond"
they know about AZs floette and ashes greninja and tried to mimic their power. So im guessing they failed horribly and now the UBs are out for revenge or something. idk im really reaching here but it might be similar to what i thought.

They aren't the NPCs. They're alternate universe counterparts.

>>29298147 If they're catchable, it pretty much guarantees characters like Lillie aren't UBs in disguise, for precisely the reasons you laid out. It would be beyond weird to be able to subdue, capture, and force human NPCs to fight to the death. Not to mention it would mean the majority of the main cast is apparently a secret alien, it's going to lessen the impact at the end of the story when everyone in the room realizes they're all pretending to be human except the MC.

>>29298147 Well I dunno, I've had a few scattered thoughts
Maybe they come from a world where they fucked something up bad, like how all the teams in the past have tried changing their world but were foiled by your trainer, and in doing it, they killed or removed their god in some way and they want to try making another one to fix things. This might be why they have human and pokemone features, maybe everything just got totally twisted when that event happened. They're all based on things that have lived for a long time in our world, things that are hard to make extinct. Maybe they're the last of their kind and desperate to fix things, going so far as to try to make the god with the power they need. I don't recall much of Gen 4 but maybe they come from a world where Galactic managed to attempt reforming the world and everything got fucked.

>>29298147 My question is why, out of the 8 UBs, is there two UB-02s? They're definitely not forms of each other and are two separate Pokemon. Their only similarity is they're both based on bugs and the rest aren't. Perhaps there will be two UB-03s or UB-04s? I'm not understanding the naming or relations
Anonymous
>>29299597 im gonna take a guess and say notlillie and crabfucker are going to be in both games
the rest will be split up in each version so theres ub1-4 instead of 1-8
maybe they wont be tradeable?
Anonymous
>>29299645 They'll most likely be tradable. Version differences and the fact that there are shiny models suggests that they'll have entries in the pokedex, whether or not they're in their own section is debatable. But since they're version exclusive, trading to register the other form would make the most sense.

I just assumed the UBs took form in the likeness of important people, you know like an inter-dimensional pokemon equivalent of a human. That's why they're so strong and not regarded as pokemon, at least not at first.

>>29299597 Like mentioned before, they're version exclusive and probably different storylines with different sides. They have actual names but we don't know them. I'm assuming each game goes UB-01, a UB-02 and UB-03 Split, and a same UB-04. Probably the extra legends of this game.
>>29299708 No, they will be. Or they'll be unimportant to the Dex
