>OP imageUgh. I just fucking hate fakemon so much (although I have to say that I'm not that subjected to them but the ones I happen to run into always make me irk somehow). The only ones that ever managed to get my attention were D.I's and even those had a rather odd first impression of me at first but easily grew used to them. I only grew used to them because they were strangely incredibly easy to picture in a actual Pokemon game (like in-game battles and stuff like that) and had hidden/subtle themes towards them once the deconfirmation thread happened, which made me appreciate the designs more.
And now, I'm looking at this
>>29363661and kind of feeling sorry for the entire Fire starter line because, asides from Typhlosion who goes both ways, everything pretty much stands on two, while Grass and Water have designs that at least have some variety into them. I've been okay with Blaziken, I've been okay with Infernape, I've been okay with Emboar (I'm beginning to not be okay with the third Fire/Fighting starter however, but still) and I've been okay with Delphox even though its 3D model left a lot to be desired but at least that was a different type combination, but my god, are you seriously telling me there was absolutely NO way to make a interesting quadrupedal Fire starter design without making it stand, especially given that the species based was a fucking cat? The worst part is, even though it's apparently supposed to be a Fire/Dark, I feel like I'm pretty much looking at a second Emboar here. Holy shit, if you only knew just how similar Torracat actually is to Tepig as well. If the problem here was the design to unavoidably be predictable, what's the fucking problem in that? Are you saying that, as long it's unpredictable, it makes the design 100% okay?
Newsflash, everyone was actually FEARING the cat becoming bipedal and guess what, they predicted it right.
